I would have to say that the best concert I went to was the Black Label Society show I went to. If I'm not mistaken I only went to two shows this year, BLS and Slayer. Slayer was pretty cool. Real heavy but at the same time reasonably tame for a band like Slayer. Tom Araya even made fun of the people that were getting too rough in the pit. I was glad Kerry King kept his mouth shut. I'm really not down with his satanic bullshit. It would be funny to fast forward to his dying day and see how confident he is then. Anyways the BLS had it all bad ass guitar, loud, high energy. The best album is a tough one I have been going over that in my head since I got your email. Damn, I would have to go with the "Blessed Hell Ride" from BLS or with "Faceless" from Godsmack. A month ago the "Faceless" disk would not have even been there. I was not real impressed with it the first few times I listened to it, but I have been listening to it lately and realize there is alot on this disk I missed the first time through. Here's the problem, I just have not heard a cd from any band lately that just pulled me in from beginning to end. I have been majorly disappointed in almost every cd I have bought this year. I just bought three a few days ago. The new Fuel, "Natural Selection", pretty much sucks. Strapping Young Lad. This is supposed to be metal at its finest. Not really. Here and there, there are some good riffs. Put your right hand under your left armpit, pump left arm up and down to produce fart noice and that pretty much describes this cd. The real surprise was a cd by a band called Revis. I have listened to it a few times. Kind of a mellow disk but definately some original stuff. Nothing really jumps out but the songs just sound good. I don't remember if you asked for the biggest disappointment of the year but that would go to the new Iron Maiden disk. 'Till next time, Later. Drew
